English for Speakers of Other Languages
At St. John’s, we seek to offer hospitality and friendship to immigrants and refugees in our local community through ESOL classes (English for Speakers of Other Languages). Join us in serving our neighbors as an ESOL volunteer (tutor, conversation partner, or childcare worker) or by giving through St. John’s to support this community outreach.
Thursdays, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
We offer a class for mothers with small children. There are opportunities for female volunteers to help with the children alongside Fatima, our childcare worker from Iraq. For more information or to volunteer, contact Karen Mahan (coordinator) at email@example.com
Mondays, 4:15-5:45 p.m.
We offer a weekly program of conversation and one-on-one tutoring for both women and men. There are opportunities to serve as conversation partners and tutors both one-off and weekly. For more information or to volunteer, contact coordinators Michele Sigg or Tanya Walker at firstname.lastname@example.org
