Tag Sale
St. John's will be holding its annual back-to-school tag sale on Saturday, August 30th from
9-2. St. John's is located at the intersection of Orange and Humphrey streets, just a short walk from the Yale campus.
Progress on the undercroft
Over the last few months, the undercroft area has been dramatically improved into an impressive open area. Tons of dirt and debris
have been excavated and carted away. A smooth concrete floor now covers the area. Windows and the exterior entrance have been enlarged.
Inside, spaces have been created for an elevator and a set of stairs from the Parish Room.
For those of you who haven't had a chance to take a tour, here's a picture (click for a larger image):
T-Shirt sale
Shirts with a St. John's logo are on sale after the 10:15 service. Proceeds of the sale will support the 2009 Honduras mission trip.
Monday night Bible study and potluck is held at 6:30 p.m. and is meeting in the Parish Room.
Clothing collections in the bins at the back of the church go to the Bread of Life Ministry Food Pantry.
Welcome!Sunday Coffee Hour follows the 10:15 AM Holy Eucharist immediately in the Parish Hall, out through the double doors to the right of the pulpit. Please come join the food and fellowship for which St. John's is famous!
- Visitors welcome! Please fill out a welcome form and put in the offering plate or hand it to one of the ushers or clergy. We want to meet and greet you! Please join us for the coffee hour in the Parish Room after the 10:15 AM service.
- Holy Communion is open to all baptized believers who would normally receive Holy Communion in their own church. Need or want prayer? During Communion, prayer team members are available for personal prayer in the back of the Sanctuary near the Chapel door.
- Childcare for infants and children through age 4 is available in the Chapel, from 9 AM through the end of the service. Children's Chapel from ages 5 to 10
- Which book do I use? Readings for the liturgy are found in the Book of Common Prayer (abbreviated BCP; the red book in the pew racks). Hymns are found in The Hymnal 1982 (the blue book in the pew racks). Pew Bibles are located at the end of each pew.
- Prayer Requests to be offered at the times of the ringing of the bells at the beginning of Services may be left in the red box at the back of the church. Requests to be offered during Morning Prayer can be left in the gold and red box on the back table.
